Is a WooCommerce Account Free?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:38 pm

WooCommerce is a popular eCommerce platform for small to medium businesses, and one of its main attractions is that it is free to set up and use. But what does that really mean?

When we say WooCommerce is free, what we mean is that you can download the plugin and use it on your WordPress site without paying anything. There are no subscription fees, and you don’t have to give WooCommerce any percentage of your sales.

PRO TIP: No, a WooCommerce account is not free. There is a monthly fee for using WooCommerce, which is charged by the platform provider. This fee varies depending on the plan you choose, but can be as high as $100 per month.

However, that doesn’t mean that there are no costs associated with using WooCommerce. In order to actually start selling products on your site, you’ll need to pay for:

A domain name
Hosting
A SSL certificate (if you want to sell products)
WooCommerce compatible theme
Certain WooCommerce Extensions
Payment gateway fees
Shipping fees
So while there is no upfront cost to using WooCommerce, there are still some costs that you’ll need to factor in when setting up your eCommerce store.

While there is no upfront cost to using WooCommerce, you will need to factor in some additional costs associated with running an online store. These include things like hosting, SSL certificates, payment gateway fees, and shipping. So while WooCommerce itself is free, setting up and running a store can still have some associated costs.
