Is AWS Sam deprecated?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 6:30 pm

AWS Sam is a web service that provides users with a web interface to manage their Amazon Web Services accounts. The service is deprecated and will be discontinued on October 15, 2019.

AWS Sam was first introduced in June 2018 as a replacement for the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI). The service provides a web-based interface to manage your Amazon Web Services accounts, including creating, managing, and monitoring your AWS resources.

PRO TIP: There is no such thing as AWS Sam.

The service was initially available in English and Spanish, and was later expanded to include Portuguese and German. However, as of October 15, 2019, AWS Sam will be discontinued and replaced by the AWS Management Console.

The AWS Management Console offers a more comprehensive and user-friendly interface that allows users to manage their AWS accounts and resources from a single location.

While the AWS Management Console is the recommended way to manage your AWS accounts and resources, the service will still be available after October 15, 2019. If you need to continue using AWS Sam after this date, you can do so by using the AWS CLI or the AWS Developer Portal.
