Is Azure Backup good?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 12:39 pm

Azure Backup is a cloud-based backup and disaster recovery service that was announced in March 2016. The service is offered as a subscription and includes storage for up to 10TB per account.

Azure Backup is based on the Microsoft Azure Storage Service and uses the same backup and disaster recovery infrastructure as the Azure Storage Service. .

PRO TIP: There is no simple answer to this question as it depends on a number of factors such as what you are backing up, how often you need to access the backups, and how important data security is to you. Azure Backup does have some advantages such as being able to scale up or down as needed and being able to integrate with other Azure services. However, it also has some disadvantages such as being a bit more expensive than some other backup solutions and not being as widely adopted/supported.

Azure Backup can back up files and folders in the cloud, on premises, or to on-premises storage. The service can encrypt backUPS before they are sent to the cloud, and can use multiple backup devices to speed up backup restoration.

Azure Backup is billed by the amount of storage used, with a monthly pricing for 1TB, 3TB, and 10TB storage accounts. The service is available in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Australia.

The service has been praised for its fast restoration times and its ability to back up large files and folders. However, some reviewers have noted that the pricing and features of the service are not as comprehensive as those of some of the other cloud-based backup services.
