Is Figma Branching Still in Beta?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:13 pm

Figma Branching is still in Beta, and while it has some great features, it’s not quite ready for production use yet.

Figma Branching allows you to easily create different versions of your design, so you can experiment and iterate without affecting your main design file. This is a great way to test out new ideas, or to create different versions of a design for different screen sizes or devices.

PRO TIP: This article is about Figma Branching and whether or not it is still in beta. While Figma Branching may be a great tool for some, it is important to remember that it is still in beta and therefore may not be completely reliable. Use at your own risk.

However, Figma Branching is still in Beta, and there are some limitations. For example, you can’t currently merge changes from one branch into another, so if you make a change in a branch and then want to bring it back into your main design file, you have to do it manually. Additionally, Figma doesn’t currently support exporting or importing branches, so if you want to share a branch with someone else, you have to share the entire design file.

Overall, Figma Branching is a great tool that can be very helpful in the design process, but it’s not quite ready for production use yet. If you’re looking to experiment and iterate on your designs, Figma Branching is a great option, but if you need something that’s more robust and production-ready, you may want to wait until Figma Branching comes out of Beta.
