Is Google Cloud Print going away?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 8:02 pm

When Google first announced Cloud Print, it was met with skepticism. How could a company like Google offer a printing service that was so similar to what was available from the likes of HP, Canon, and Epson? But Google’s service proved to be a worthy competitor, and Cloud Print has become a popular printing service for businesses and home users.

Now, it looks like Google is phasing out Cloud Print. The company announced earlier this year that it would be discontinuing support for certain printers that are connected to Google Cloud Print.

PRO TIP: Google Cloud Print is going away on December 31, 2020. After that date, you will no longer be able to print from your Chromebook or other devices using Google Cloud Print.

In addition, Google is also phasing out support for Chrome OS and Android devices, which means that Cloud Print will no longer be available on those platforms.

While it’s sad to see Google Cloud Print go, it’s understandable why the company is making these changes. Cloud Print has been around for a while now, and it’s been difficult to keep up with the ever-changing competition.

However, Google is still offering a well-functioning printing service, and it’s likely that users will be able to find a suitable replacement.
