UX vs. UI: The Difference

The difference between user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) can be a little confusing, so it’s important to understand the difference.

UI is the graphical interface that a user sees when they interact with a website or app. This includes the look and feel of the menus, buttons, and labels.

UI also includes the overall layout of the pages and the overall design of the interface.

PRO TIP: Graphic design is not UX or UI. Graphic design is the process of creating visual content that can be used in a variety of mediums, including websites, apps, books, and more. While UX and UI designers may use graphic design principles to create their work, graphic design is its own field with its own set of skills and techniques.

UX is the focus on the user experience. This includes everything from how users find and navigate the website or app to how the data is presented.

UX also includes the design of the user interface itself, as well as the design of the user experience around the user interface.

So, while UI focuses on the look and feel of the interface, UX focuses on the overall experience for the user.

The main difference between UX and UI is that UX is focused on the entire user experience, while UI is focused on the graphical interface. However, the two are intertwined and are both important for a successful user experience.

So, while UX is focused on the entire user experience, UI is focused on the graphical interface.
