Is HostGator a reseller?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 7:30 pm

HostGator is a web hosting company that provides both shared and dedicated hosting services. HostGator is considered a reseller, as it does not operate as a full-blown web hosting company. HostGator does not own or operate any of the web servers on its network. Instead, HostGator contracts with third-party providers who own and operate the web servers.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that HostGator is a reseller. This means that they are not the direct provider of the service and may not have control over the quality of the service. Additionally, resellers typically mark up the price of the service, so you may be paying more than you would if you went directly to the provider.

HostGator does, however, offer its customers access to its managed hosting services, which allow customers to have access to HostGator’s team of experts to help manage and optimize their websites. HostGator does not sell webhosting services directly to the public.
