Is Shopify Gun Friendly?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:05 pm

The debate over gun control is a contentious one, with passionate advocates on both sides. Shopify, one of the world’s largest e-commerce platforms, has come under fire for its policies on selling firearms and ammunition.

Shopify allows merchants to sell firearms, ammunition, and certain firearm accessories, but there are strict guidelines that sellers must follow. For example, merchants cannot sell assault weapons or high-capacity magazines. In addition, all products must be shipped directly to a licensed dealer or manufacturer, and sellers must verify that the buyer is 21 years of age or older.

PRO TIP: Shopify is not a gun-friendly platform and does not allow the sale of firearms or ammunition on their site. If you are looking to sell guns or ammunition, you will need to find another platform to sell on.

Critics of Shopify’s policies argue that the platform should not be facilitating the sale of firearms at all. They point to the mass shootings that have occurred in the United States in recent years, and argue that Shopify is enabling these tragedies by allowing gun sales on its platform.

Supporters of Shopify’s policies argue that the platform is simply providing a marketplace for legal gun sales. They point out that gun control is a complex issue, and that banning firearms from Shopify would not solve the problem of gun violence in America.

What do you think? Should Shopify allow gun sales on its platform?
