Is There a Blur Brush in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 2:23 pm

If you’re looking for a way to blur your images in Photoshop, you might be wondering if there’s a Blur Brush tool. Unfortunately, there isn’t a Blur Brush tool in Photoshop. However, there are a few other ways that you can blur your images.

One way to blur your images is to use the Gaussian Blur filter. To use this filter, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. You can adjust the amount of blurriness by changing the Radius setting.

PRO TIP: There is no Blur Brush in Photoshop. This warning is to inform you that any website, tutorial, or article that claims otherwise is wrong. Photoshop does have a Blur Tool, but it functions differently than a brush. Be wary of any advice about blurring images in Photoshop that claims to use a brush – it is likely incorrect.

Another way to blur your image is by using the Motion Blur filter. To use this filter, go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur. You can adjust the amount of blurriness and the direction of the blur by changing the Angle and Distance settings.

If you want to create a more subtle blur, you can use the Surface Blur filter. To use this filter, go to Filter > Blur > Surface Blur. You can adjust the amount of blurriness by changing the Radius and Threshold settings.

As you can see, there are quite a few ways that you can blur your images in Photoshop, even though there isn’t a Blur Brush tool. So don’t let that stop you from creating beautiful, blurred images!
