Is There a Ruler Tool in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 11:29 am

As a general rule, Photoshop does not have a “ruler” tool like the one found in Microsoft Word or other design programs. However, there are a couple of ways that you can measure distance and size in Photoshop.

First, you can use the “Info” panel. This panel gives you information about the current document, including the width and height of the document, as well as the x and y coordinates of your cursor. To open the Info panel, go to Window > Info.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that the “Is There a Ruler Tool in Photoshop?” article is outdated and may no longer be accurate. The article was written for an older version of Photoshop and may not work with the latest version.

Second, you can use the “Ruler” tool. This tool is found in the “Tools” palette, which is usually located on the left side of the screen.

To use the Ruler tool, simply click and drag it across the area you want to measure. The distance will be shown in pixels.

So, while there is no true “ruler” tool in Photoshop, there are ways to measure distance and size. With a little practice, you’ll be able to get accurate measurements every time!
