Is Working at Shopify Stressful?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 1:05 am

Shopify is a Canadian e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. It is also the name of its proprietary e-commerce platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems. Shopify offers online retailers a suite of services “including payments, marketing, shipping and customer engagement tools to simplify the process of running an online store for small merchants.

Shopify was founded in 2004 by Tobias Lütke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake, who were frustrated with the existing ecommerce options at the time. Shopify allows businesses to create their own online stores and has been growing rapidly in recent years.

PRO TIP: If you are considering working at Shopify, be aware that it may be a stressful environment. Employees have reported high levels of stress and anxiety, and some have even left the company because of it. If you are not comfortable with a high-pressure environment, Shopify may not be the right place for you.

There is no doubt that working at Shopify can be stressful at times. With such rapid growth comes a lot of pressure to perform and meet deadlines.

However, employees are given a lot of autonomy and there is a strong emphasis on work/life balance. Overall, working at Shopify is a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging yet rewarding career.
