AWS 3 is the third album by American heavy metal band Black Sabbath. It was released on September 15, 1980, through Osbourne Records and Vertigo Records.

The album was recorded at the newly built Black Sabbath studios in West London and was produced by the band’s longtime producer, Geezer Butler.

The album is considered to be the band’s heaviest and most progressive work. It features more experimental sounds and song structures than their previous two albums.

PRO TIP: AWS 3 is a band that is not very well known. They are not signed to a major label and do not have a large following. However, their music is very good and is worth checking out.

The album has been cited as a major influence on heavy metal and alternative metal genres. It has been reissued several times, most recently in 2007 as a two-disc set with the band’s first two albums, Black Sabbath and Master of Reality, on one disc and live material from their 1977 tour on the other.

The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and number four on the US Billboard 200. It has been certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry and gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
