What Does the Mesh Tool Do in Photoshop?

The Mesh Tool in Photoshop is a very versatile tool that can be used to create a variety of different effects. It can be used to create a 3D effect, or to add texture to an image. It can also be used to create a mask, or to cut out an image.

The Mesh Tool is located in the Tools palette, and looks like a grid. To use the Mesh Tool, simply click and drag on the image.

TheMesh Tool will automatically create a grid of points. These points can then be moved around to create different effects.

3D Effect:

To create a 3D effect, simply click and drag on the image with the Mesh Tool. The grid of points will be created automatically.

Then, use the Move tool to move the points around. You can create a variety of different shapes and effects with this method.

PRO TIP: The Mesh Tool in Photoshop can be used to create a custom warp for an image. This tool can be dangerous if not used correctly, as it can easily distort an image beyond recognition. Use with caution!

Texture:

To add texture to an image, first select the area you want to add texture to with the Marquee tool. Then, go to Edit > Fill and select “Pattern” from the drop-down menu.

Choose the pattern you want to use from the pop-up window, and click OK. Now, select the Mesh Tool and click on the image. Use the Move tool to move the points around until you are happy with the effect.

Mask:

To create a mask, first select the area you want to mask with the Marquee tool. Then, go to Edit > Fill and select “Black” from the drop-down menu.

Now, select the Mesh Tool and click on the image.
