What Files Can Be Uploaded to Canva?

As one of the most popular online design tools, Canva is beloved by users for its simple and straightforward interface. But what many don’t realize is that Canva can be used for much more than just designing graphics and covers for social media.

In fact, one of Canvas’s best features is its ability to upload and store files. Here’s everything you need to know about which files Canva can upload.

Images

Canva supports all major image file formats, including JPG, PNG, and SVG. Simply click the “Uploads” tab in the left-hand menu and then drag-and-drop your image file into the designated space.

Or, if you prefer, you can click the “Upload an image or video” button and select your file from there. Once your image has been uploaded, you can edit it using Canva’s extensive editing tools.

Videos

In addition to images, Canva also supports video files. Just like with images, you can drag-and-drop your video file into the “Uploads” tab or click the “Upload an image or video” button and select your file from there. Once your video has been uploaded, you’ll be able to edit it using Canva’s various editing tools.

PRO TIP: Canva is a great platform for creating visuals, but you should be aware of the file types that can be uploaded to the site. Canva accepts JPEG, PNG, and GIF files. Be sure to check the file type before uploading to Canva, as other file types will not be accepted.

Documents

Canva also allows users to upload documents, which is helpful if you’re designing a presentation or creating a document with multiple pages. Supported document formats include PDF, PPTX, and TXT. To upload a document, simply drag-and-drop it into the “Uploads” tab or click the “Upload an image or video” button and select your file from there.

Conclusion

These are the three types of files that can be uploaded to Canva: images, videos, and documents. Images must be in JPG, PNG, or SVG format; videos must be in MP4 format; and documents must be in PDF, PPTX, or TXT format.
