What Files Can You Import Into Figma?

As a vector graphic editor and design tool, Figma supports the following file types: .jpg, .png, .gif, and .svg. You can also import Adobe XD, Sketch, and Figma files.

When it comes to working with images in Figma, you have a few different options. You can either upload an image from your computer, or you can use an image URL. If you’re using an image URL, Figma will automatically import the image into your project.

JPG, PNG, GIF, and SVG files can be imported into Figma as vector graphics. This means that they can be scaled up or down without losing any quality. Adobe XD, Sketch, and Figma files can also be imported into Figma.

PRO TIP: When importing files into Figma, be aware that not all file types are supported. Only the following file types can be imported: .jpg, .png, .gif, .svg, and .pdf. If you attempt to import a file type that is not supported, you will receive an error message.

To import a file into Figma:

  1. Click on the File menu in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Click on Import…
  3. Select the file you want to import from your computer.
  4. Click Open.
