What Happened to Cover Pages Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:44 am

As the internet continues to evolve, so does the way we design and build websites. One of the most popular website builders is Squarespace, which allows users to create beautiful websites without having to code or learn web design. One of the best features of Squarespace is its Cover Pages, which are single-page sites that can be used to promote a product, service, or event.

However, it appears that Cover Pages may soon be a thing of the past, as Squarespace is now testing a new feature called Sections. Sections is a similar concept to Cover Pages, but with some key differences.

PRO TIP: Cover pages are no longer available on Squarespace as of May 2020. Any existing cover pages will continue to work, but you will not be able to create new ones.

First, Sections are not standalone pages – they must be added to an existing Squarespace website. Second, Sections are designed to be used with multiple pages, not just a single page.

So what does this mean for Cover Pages? It’s hard to say for sure, but it seems likely that they will eventually be phased out in favor of Sections. This is unfortunate news for those of us who love Cover Pages, but it’s not surprising given the direction Squarespace seems to be headed in.
