What Is Command Y in Figma?

Command Y is a Figma design tool that allows you to quickly and easily create beautiful text styles. It’s simple to use and easy to learn, making it a great tool for any designer, whether you’re a beginner or a pro. With Command Y, you can create text styles in seconds, and apply them to any text layer in your Figma document.

How to Use Command Y

1. Create a new text layer.
In the Layers panel, click the “+” icon and select “Text” from the menu. A new text layer will be created.

2. Select the text layer.
Click on the text layer to select it.

PRO TIP: Command Y is a keyboard shortcut that is used to close the current window in Figma. If you accidentally press this shortcut, it will close the current window without prompting you to save your work. Make sure to save your work before using this shortcut.

3. Open Command Y.
Click on the “Command” menu at the top of the screen, then select “Y” from the menu. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut “Cmd + Y”.

4. Choose a text style.
In the Command Y window, select the text style you want to apply from the drop-down menu. You can also create a new text style by clicking on the “Create New Style” button.

5. Apply the text style.
Click on the “Apply” button to apply the selected text style to your text layer. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut “Cmd + Shift + Y”.
