A favicon is a small, 16×16 image that is shown inside the browser’s location bar and bookmark menu when your site is called up. It is a good way to give your site a more professional look and feel.

Wix makes it easy to create and add a favicon to your site. Here’s how:

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

1. Create a 16×16 image in either .jpg, .gif or .png format. If you want to be really fancy, you can create an .ico file that contains multiple sizes of your image.

2. Upload the image to your Wix account.

3. Go to the “Site Manager” section of your Wix account and click on the “Favicon” tab.

4. Select the image you uploaded in step 2 and click “OK”.

5. That’s it! Your favicon will now be displayed when people visit your site.

Creating a favicon for your Wix site is a great way to add a touch of professionalism. It only takes a few minutes to create and upload an image, so why not give it a try?

PRO TIP: Favicon is a file used to customize the display of a web page in a web browser. It is typically a small image, 16×16 pixels in size, and is associated with a particular website. A web page may include multiple favicons for different purposes, such as one for each of the different device sizes supported by the web browser.

When used with Wix, favicon files must be placed in the root directory of your website. If you do not have a favicon file, or if the file is not in the root directory, the Wix platform will not be able to display it on your website.
