What Is Figma Branching?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:05 pm

Figma branching is a way to create different versions of a design, so that you can experiment with different ideas and then merge the changes that you want to keep into a single design. This is similar to how developers use branches in code repositories like GitHub.

Creating a branch in Figma is quick and easy. To create a branch, simply click the “Create Branch” button in the top-right corner of the screen.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that Figma Branching may not be suitable for everyone. Some people may find it difficult to use, and it may not be possible to achieve the desired results.

Once you’ve created a branch, you can make changes to your design and then switch back to the main branch to see how the changes look. If you decide that you like the changes, you can merge them into the main branch. And if you don’t like the changes, you can simply delete the branch.

Figma branching is an incredibly powerful tool for collaboration and experimentation. It allows you to try out new ideas without affecting the main design, and it makes it easy to merge changes when you’re ready.
