PRO TIP: Google Cloud Interconnect is a cloud-based networking service that connects your on-premises network to your Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). Google Cloud Interconnect provides two types of connections: Dedicated Interconnect and Partner Interconnect.

Dedicated Interconnect provides a direct, physical connection between your on-premises network and Google. This connection can be used to connect your on-premises network to a GCP VPC using either a Direct Peering or a Transit Gateway.

Partner Interconnect provides a connection to Google through a partner network provider. This type of connection can be used to connect your on-premises network to a GCP VPC using either a Direct Peering or a Transit Gateway.

In addition, Cloud Interconnect provides an event-based interface that enables businesses to receive notifications when resources are available or when errors occur. Cloud Interconnect also provides a RESTful interface that enables businesses to manage resources using their own web applications.

The Cloud Interconnect platform has been designed to provide a fast and easy way for businesses to connect to Google Cloud Platform resources. Cloud Interconnect provides a single interface that enables businesses to manage connections, supports multi-tenancy, and supports a variety of authentication mechanisms.
