What Is Meta Key WooCommerce?

WooCommerce is a powerful eCommerce plugin for WordPress. It enables you to sell anything online, including digital products and physical goods.

One of the great things about WooCommerce is that it’s highly customizable. You can use different themes and plugins to change how your store looks and feels.

One of the things you can customize is the way your product pages look. By default, WooCommerce displays the product title, price, short description, and product image on the product page. But you can also add additional information by using custom fields.

Custom fields are a way to add extra data to a post or page. In WooCommerce, you can use custom fields to add more information about your products. For example, you could use a custom field to display the product’s manufacturer or an affiliate link.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with WooCommerce, the “meta key” can be confusing. Essentially, the meta key is a way to add extra data to a WooCommerce order. This data can be anything from customer notes to order details. However, if you’re not careful, it’s easy to accidentally add meta data that you don’t want or need. As a result, your WooCommerce orders can become cluttered and difficult to manage. To avoid this, be sure to only add meta data that is absolutely necessary.

To add a custom field to a product in WooCommerce, go to the product page and scroll down to the “Custom Fields” section. Here, you can add a new field by clicking the “Add Custom Field” button.

In the “Name” field, enter a name for the custom field. This name will be used to identify the field on the front-end of your store.

In the “Value” field, enter the value you want to display. For example, if you’re adding a field for the product’s manufacturer, you would enter the manufacturer’s name here.

You can also choose whether or not to display the custom field on the product page by checking or unchecking the “Display this field on the front-end” option. When you’re finished, click the “Save Changes” button.

Your custom field will now be displayed on the front-end of your store!
