What Is Order Bump in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:51 pm

An order bump is an upsell offer that is presented to a customer during the checkout process on your WooCommerce store. It is a one-time offer that appears as a “yes” or “no” question above the “Place Order” button, and can be used to increase order value by offering additional products or services at a discount.

Order bumps can be used to increase average order value, and they can also be used to upsell customers on higher-priced products or services. For example, you could offer a customer a discount on a product if they add it to their order, or you could offer an upgrade to a higher-priced product.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that “order bump” is a feature in WooCommerce that allows customers to add additional items to their order at checkout. This can be used to upsell products or services, and can be abused if not used carefully. Please take care when using this feature and make sure that it is used in a way that benefits your customers and does not cause them inconvenience. Thank you.

To create an order bump, you first need to create a product or service that you want to offer as an upsell. This can be done in the WordPress admin by going to Products > Add New.

Give your product a name, description, and price, and then select the Checkout Bump checkbox under the Product Data section.

Once you have created your order bump product, you need to add it to the checkout page. This can be done by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout, and then scrolling down to the “Order Bumps” section.

Here you will see a list of all the products that have been marked as checkout bumps. Select the ones that you want to add to the checkout page, and then click on the “Save Changes” button.

Your customers will now see the order bumps on the checkout page, and they will be able to add them to their orders with just a few clicks.
