Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 5:34 pm

SSM stands for Serverless Storage Migration. AWS SSM helps you migrate your on-premises storage to the AWS cloud, including data, applications, and infrastructure. You can use AWS SSM to migrate your entire storage environment, or select individual components. You can use SSM to migrate data to AWS S3, Amazon EBS, or Amazon EBS Volumes. You can use SSM to migrate applications to AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, or Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). You can use SSM to migrate your infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

PRO TIP: AWS SSM is a managed instance service that helps you automatically manage and maintain your Amazon EC2 instances. It provides a secure way to manage and control your instances, making it easy to keep track of your Amazon EC2 fleet. However, it is important to note that AWS SSM is not a replacement for Amazon EC2.
