Azure Event Hub is a platform as a service (PaaS) that enables organizations to manage and store events and messages from various sources, including devices, applications, and services. It provides a single, unified experience for managing and viewing events from all sources.

Events can be ingested from a variety of sources, including Microsoft Outlook, Exchange, SharePoint, and Outlook Web App, and can be consumed by various applications, such as Microsoft Office 365, Office 2016, and Azure Active Directory.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that there is a difference between Azure event hub and event grid. Event hub is a managed service that helps ingest, process, and monitor events from any source so you can build dynamic data pipelines for real-time analytics. Event grid is a fully managed event routing service that allows you to easily publish and subscribe to events across your ecosystem.

Event Grid is a multitenant pub/sub messaging platform in the cloud that enables organizations to send and receive events and messages from various sources, including devices, applications, and services. It provides a unified experience for managing and viewing events from all sources and supports a variety of applications and messaging protocols.

Event Grid is also extensible to enable organizations to add their own custom events and message handlers.
