What is the difference between RDP and VPS?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 3:19 pm

RDP stands for Remote Desktop Protocol. VPS stands for Virtual Private Server.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that RDP and VPS are two different things. RDP is a type of remote connection protocol while VPS is a type of virtual server. They are not interchangeable.

RDP is a Windows-based protocol that allows users to access their computer from a different computer. VPSes are virtual machines that are hosted on a physical server. They allow businesses to have their own dedicated server without having to buy an entire server.

This allows businesses to scale up or down as needed. Additionally, VPSes offer a higher level of security than RDP, as they do not allow users to access the underlying operating system.
