In Photoshop, the paint bucket tool is used to fill an area with a solid color or a gradient. There are two ways to access the paint bucket tool:

  1. From the toolbar:
  2. Click on the paint bucket icon in the toolbar. Alternatively, you can press the G key on your keyboard to select the tool.

  3. From the menu:
  4. Click on Edit > Fill. In the dialog box that opens, select Paint Bucket from the Use drop-down menu.

    To fill an area with a solid color: Select the paint bucket tool from the toolbar or from the menu. In the options bar, select a color from the Color picker. Click on the area you want to fill. To fill an area with a gradient: Select the paint bucket tool from the toolbar or from the menu. In the options bar, click on the (double arrow) next to Color. This will open up the gradient editor. Click on one of the color stops and select a color from the Color picker. Do this for each of the color stops. Click on (double arrow).

    This will close the gradient editor. If you want to change other settings such as gradient type or opacity, you can do so in the options bar before filling an area. To change these settings after filling an area , double – click on layer in layers panel . This will open up layer styles dialog box where you can make changes.
