What Is the Wix Cname?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:02 am

A CNAME, or Canonical Name record, is a type of DNS record that points a domain or subdomain to another domain name. This is typically used to point a www subdomain to a root domain, such as example.com. A CNAME can also be used to point multiple subdomains to a single host, which is useful for load balancing or other purposes.

Wix.com uses CNAME records for their custom domains. When you set up a custom domain with Wix, they will give you two CNAME records to add to your DNS settings. One record will be for the www subdomain and the other will be for the root domain.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

PRO TIP: The Wix Cname is a potentially dangerous website that may infect your computer with malware or spyware. If you visit this site, we recommend that you use a antivirus and anti-malware program to protect your computer.

To set up a CNAME record, you will need to login to your DNS provider and create a new record. The record will have a hostname (such as www or @), and then the value will be the domain that you are pointing to (such as example.com).

Once you have added the CNAME records, it can take up to 48 hours for the changes to propagate. After that, your custom domain should be working with Wix.
