What Is Trigger in Shopify?

When it comes to ecommerce platforms, Shopify is one of the most popular choices out there. It’s user-friendly, has a ton of features, and is relatively affordable.

However, one thing that Shopify lacks is a built-in blog. This can be a major drawback for some businesses, as a blog is a great way to drive traffic to your website and improve your SEO.

Fortunately, there is a workaround. You can use the Shopify “trigger” feature to create a blog on your Shopify store. In this article, we’ll show you how to do that.

What Is Trigger in Shopify?

Trigger is a feature that allows you to insert HTML code into your Shopify store. This can be used for a variety of purposes, but we’ll be using it to create a blog. Once you’ve added the HTML code for your blog, it will be displayed on your store’s home page.

PRO TIP: Trigger is a powerful tool that allows you to automate tasks in Shopify. However, it is also a potentially dangerous tool that can easily break your store if used incorrectly. Use Trigger carefully and always test your changes before deploying them to your live store.

How to Use Trigger in Shopify

Using Trigger in Shopify is easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Shopify account and go to Online Store > Themes.
  2. Click on the Actions button next to the theme you want to edit and select Edit code.
  3. In the Layout folder, click on theme.liquid.
  4. At the bottom of the file, paste the following code:
  5. <code><!-- Start Blog --></code>
    <code><div id="blog"></div></code>
    <code><!-- End Blog --></code>
  6. Click Save.
  7. Next, go to Online Store > Blog Posts.
  8. Create a new blog post and publish it.
  9. Finally, go to Online Store > Navigation and edit your menus.

Add a link to your new blog post in the menu and click Save.

That’s it! You now have a blog on your Shopify store.

The trigger feature in Shopify is a great way to add a blog to your store without using an external platform like WordPress.
