What Is Version History in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 11:13 pm

Version history is an important part of the Figma design process. It allows you to track changes to your design, see who made those changes, and even revert back to older versions if needed.

Version history is located in the top-right corner of the editor. To view the history for a specific file, click the file name in the left sidebar and then click the “History” tab.

PRO TIP: Version History in Figma is a feature that allows you to view and restore previous versions of your design. This can be useful if you accidentally delete something or make a change that you later regret. However, it is important to note that restoring a previous version will overwrite your current design, so be sure to save your work before using this feature.

The history for a file will show you a list of all the changes that have been made, along with the date and time, and the name of the person who made the change. You can even see a preview of what changed in each version.

To revert back to an older version, simply click on that version in the history list. Figma will then ask you to confirm that you want to revert back to that version.

Keep in mind that this cannot be undone, so make sure you really want to do it before you click “Revert.”

Version history is a crucial part of the Figma design process – it allows designers to track changes, see who made them, and even revert back to older versions if necessary. By clicking on the ‘History’ tab in the top-right corner of the editor, users can view a list of all changes made to a file, including date and time stamps as well as the name of the person who made each change.

Designers can also see a preview of what changed in each version. If necessary, designers can revert back to any older version by simply clicking on it in the history list; however, this cannot be undone, so designers must be certain before taking this step.
