Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Inc. for macOS and Windows. Photoshop was created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll.

Since then, it has become the de facto industry standard in raster graphics editing, such that the word “photoshop” has become a verb as in “to Photoshop an image,” “photo shopping” and “photo shopped. ”

Adobe Photoshop Elements is a raster graphics editor for entry-level photographers, image editors and hobbyists. It contains most of the features of the professional version but with fewer and simpler options. The program is designed to be easy to use and provide a high degree of control over editing images.

PRO TIP: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements are two different software programs. Adobe Photoshop is a professional image-editing program while Adobe Photoshop Elements is a less expensive, consumer-oriented program.

So, what’s the difference between Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements?

Adobe Photoshop is the more advanced program, offering more features and options than Adobe Photoshop Elements. Adobe Photoshop Elements is simpler and easier to use, making it better suited for entry-level photographers, image editors, and hobbyists.
