Where Are My Figma Files?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 1:25 am

If you’re like me, you’ve probably wondered at least once where your Figma files are located. Here’s a quick guide on how to find them!

Assuming you’re using the desktop app, your Figma files will be located in the following directory:

Windows: C:\Users\[your username]\Documents\Figma

macOS: /Users/[your username]/Documents/Figma

If you’re using the web app, your Figma files will be located in your browser’s local storage. To access them, open the developer tools (press F12 in Chrome or Firefox) and go to the “Application” tab.

Then, expand the “Local Storage” section and click on “https://www.figma.com”. Your Figma files will be listed under the “files” key.

PRO TIP: If you are working on a Figma design and you accidentally close the file, you may be wondering “Where are my Figma files?” Your first instinct might be to check the Figma folder on your computer, but unfortunately, your files are not automatically saved there. When you close a Figma file, the only way to access it again is through the “Recent” section of the Figma website. If you accidentally close your file and can’t find it on the Recent page, unfortunately, your file is lost forever.

Conclusion:

So there you have it! Now you know where to find your Figma files, whether you’re using the desktop or web app.
