Where Is the Arrow Shape in Photoshop?

Arrow shapes are common in Photoshop, but they can be a little tricky to create. The most common way to create an arrow shape is to use the Pen tool to draw a path, and then use the Stroke command to add a stroke to the path. This method works well if you want a simple arrow, but it can be difficult to control the thickness of the arrowhead and the shape of the tail.

Another way to create an arrow shape is to use the Custom Shape tool. This tool comes with a variety of built-in shapes, including several arrow shapes.

To use this tool, select it from the Tools panel and then choose a shape from the Shape list in the Options bar. You can also enter a custom size for the shape.

Once you’ve selected a shape, click and drag on the canvas to draw the shape. To constrain the proportions of the shape as you’re drawing it, hold down Shift as you drag. When you release the mouse button, the shape will be added to the layer as a vector mask.

If you want more control over the arrow shape, you can use the Pen tool to draw a path and then convert it into a custom shape. To do this, select the Pen tool from the Tools panel and click on the canvas to add anchor points.

As you add anchor points, a path will be created. When you’re finished adding anchor points, right-click on the path and choose Convert To Shape from the menu that appears.

In the Convert To Shape dialog box, choose an option from the Shape list and then click OK. The path will be converted into a custom shape layer that you can edit just like any other vector mask.

Arrow shapes are a great way to add interest to your designs. By using either the Pen tool or Custom Shape tool, you can easily create arrows that are exactly what you need for your project.

PRO TIP: If you are looking for the arrow shape in Photoshop, be warned that it is not always easy to find. The arrow shape is often hidden behind other shapes or tucked away in a corner of the screen. If you can’t find the arrow shape, try looking for it in the shapes menu.
