Where Is the Watermark on Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 12:05 am

When you open a document in Adobe Photoshop, you may notice a faint watermark in the background. This watermark is your document’s security measure to prevent others from copying or printing your work without your permission.

The watermark is placed on the background layer of your document and is not visible when you print or export the file. You can find the watermark by opening the Layers panel and expanding the Background layer.

PRO TIP: If you are looking for the watermark on Photoshop, be warned that it is not always easy to find. The watermark may be hidden in the image, or it may be located in a different place depending on the version of Photoshop you are using. If you can’t find the watermark, try looking in the help files or contacting Adobe customer support.

If you’re working on a document that someone else has created, you may want to remove the watermark before saving your changes. To do this, simply select the Background layer in the Layers panel and delete it. You can also hide the watermark by adding a new layer over it and painting over it with a solid color.

Watermarks are a great way to protect your work from being copied without your permission. If you’re sharing your work with others, be sure to add a watermark so that you can be sure that your work is not used without your consent.
