Why Can’t I Use the Perspective Tool in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 1:16 pm

The Perspective Tool in Photoshop is a great way to change the perspective of an image. However, there are some limitations to using this tool. One limitation is that the tool can only be used on images that are in a rectangular shape.

This means that you cannot use the Perspective Tool on images that are circular or oval in shape. Another limitation is that the Perspective Tool can only be used on images that have a resolution of 72 pixels per inch or higher. This means that if you have an image that is lower than 72 pixels per inch, you will not be able to use the Perspective Tool on it.

PRO TIP: If you are using Photoshop CS6 or earlier, the Perspective Tool is not available. However, you can use the Free Transform command to achieve a similar effect.

Despite these limitations, the Perspective Tool is still a great way to change the perspective of an image. If you have an image that is in a rectangular shape and has a resolution of 72 pixels per inch or higher, you should definitely consider using the Perspective Tool to change its perspective.
