Why Is My Wix in a Different Language?

Last updated on January 7, 2023 @ 7:01 am

If you’re based in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand or Ireland, your Wix account will automatically be set to English. However, if you’re located in another country, your account will be set to the local language.

There are a few reasons why your Wix account might be in a different language:

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

  • You created your account while traveling outside of your home country.
  • You changed your account’s language settings.
  • Wix detected your location based on your IP address and set your account’s language accordingly.
PRO TIP: If you are using the Wix Editor in a language other than English, you may see some text in a different language. This is usually caused by a translation error and will be fixed soon. In the meantime, you can change the language of the Editor by going to your account settings.

If you want to change the language of your Wix account, you can do so from the Language section in your Site Settings. Just select the language you want from the dropdown menu and click Save. Your site will automatically be translated into the new language.
