Why is Wix dropping?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 6:31 am

Wix is a web creation platform that enables users to create websites without any coding. The company was founded in 2013 by David Sacks, who sold it to The Walt Disney Company in 2016 for $3 billion. However, Wix’s popularity has been on the decline in recent years.

In January 2019, Wix announced that it would be discontinuing its free version of the platform and would be charging users to create websites. This decision has caused a large number of users to switch to other web creation platforms, including Shopify, Squarespace, and WordPress.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

PRO TIP: Wix is dropping because it is not a very good platform for building websites. It is not as user-friendly as other platforms and it does not have as many features.

Wix’s decision to discontinue its free platform may be the reason for its declining popularity. Many users may not be willing to pay to create a website when there are free alternatives available.

Additionally, Wix’s competitors have been expanding their platforms and offering more features, which may be driving users away.
