Why Won’t My Wix Site Publish?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 12:17 am

If you’ve built a website using Wix, you may have encountered an issue where you can’t seem to get your site to publish. There are a few potential reasons for this.

1. You Haven’t Finished Editing Your Site

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

If you’re still in the process of editing your site, it won’t be published until you’re finished. This is to prevent any half-finished sites from being made public. Once you’re done editing, simply hit the “Publish” button and your site will go live.

2. You Haven’t Connected Your Domain

If you haven’t connected a custom domain to your Wix site, it won’t be published. In order to publish your site, you’ll need to either connect a domain or upgrade to a paid plan. You can learn more about connecting a domain here. If you don’t have a domain, you can purchase one here.

PRO TIP: If you are having trouble publishing your Wix site, there are a few things you can check. First, make sure that you have saved all of your changes. Then, check your internet connection. If you are still having trouble, try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies. If you are still having trouble publishing your site, contact Wix support for help.

3. Your Site Has Been Flagged As Inappropriate

If your site contains any content that is deemed inappropriate, Wix will not publish it. This includes anything that is illegal, offensive, or promotes violence or hatred.

4. You Have Outstanding Payments

If you have any outstanding payments owed to Wix, your site will not be published until those payments are made. This includes both yearly subscriptions and one-time purchases.
