Google reviews can be a great way to build trust and credibility with potential customers on your Squarespace website. Google reviews are also a good way to improve your website’s SEO.

In order to add Google reviews to your Squarespace website, you’ll need to create a Google Places page for your business if you don’t already have one. Then, you can embed the Google reviews widget on your Squarespace site using the code provided by Google.

Here are instructions for creating a Google Places page:

    1. Go to Google business

    2. Click “Start now”

    3. Enter your business name and address

    4. Follow the instructions to verify your business

After you’ve created your Google Places page and verified your business, you can get the code for the Google reviews widget from Google and embed it on your Squarespace website. Here are instructions for getting the code:

PRO TIP: If you are considering adding Google reviews to your Squarespace website, be aware that there are some potential risks. Google reviews are public, and anyone can leave a review, positive or negative. This means that your business could be subject to unfair or untrue reviews. Additionally, if you have multiple locations, you may need to moderate reviews for each location separately.

1. Go to https://developers.com/places/javascript/

2. Enter your Place ID in the “Place ID” field

3. Copy the code provided by Google

You can then paste this code into your Squarespace website by following these instructions:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Pages.
  2. Click the + icon next to the page where you want to add the widget.
  3. Click Code, then enter or paste your code into Code Blocks. (You can also use other blocks such as Text or Image blocks to add content around your widget.)
  4. When you’re finished adding content, click Apply. (Your changes will automatically save.)

(Optional) To make sure your widget displays correctly on mobile devices, in the Home Menu, click Design, then Site Styles. (Under Site Styles, click Mobile). (In Mobile Styles, scroll down to Site Width and make sure it’s set to Auto). (Click Save and Publish at the top of the page).

Adding Google reviews to your Squarespace website is a great way to build trust and credibility with potential customers, and it can also help improve your website’s SEO.
