Can I Embed a Figma Prototype in Website?

Last updated on November 25, 2022 @ 6:28 pm

Figma is a great tool for designing user interfaces, and one of its best features is the ability to create prototypes. A prototype is an interactive mockup of a design, and it can be used to test how users interact with a design before it’s implemented. Figma makes it easy to create prototypes by linking together frames in a project.

Once a prototype is created, the next question is usually how to share it. Figma provides a few different options for sharing prototypes, but one of the most common questions we get is: can I embed my Figma prototype in a website?

The answer is yes! You can embed your Figma prototype in a website using an iframe.

An iframe is an HTML element that allows you to embed content from one site into another. To embed your Figma prototype in a website:

1. Open the prototype you want to embed in Figma.
2. Click the Share button in the top-right corner of the editor.
3.Copy the link under the “Direct Link” heading. This is the link you’ll use to embed your prototype.
4. Add an iframe to your website’s code where you want the prototype to appear. The code for an iframe looks like this:

PRO TIP: If you are planning to embed a Figma prototype in a website, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, Figma prototypes are not meant to be embedded in websites and may not work as expected. Second, when embedding a Figma prototype in a website, the website’s visitors will be able to interact with the prototype, which may not be what you intended. Finally, if you do decide to embed a Figma prototype in a website, be sure to test it thoroughly before making it live to ensure that it works as intended.

< iframe src="https://your-link-goes-here" >

5. Paste the link to your Figma prototype into the src attribute of the iframe element. The final code should look something like this:

< iframe src="https://www.figma.com/proto/Your-prototype-link-goes-here" >

And that’s it! When you load your website, theprototype will appear in the iframe where you placed it.

There are a few things to keep in mind when embedding Figma prototypes in websites:

  • The width and height of an iframe can be set using CSS.
  • The default size for an iframe is 300px x 150px.
  • If you want your prototype to be responsive (scale to fit different screen sizes), you can add this CSS snippet to your website’s stylesheet:

    iframe { width: 100%; height: 100%; }
