Can I Import a Website Into Figma?

PRO TIP: When importing a website into Figma, it is important to be aware that only the visual aspects of the site will be imported. This means that any interactivity or functionality will not be carried over into Figma. Additionally, any code that is used to create the website will not be imported and will need to be recreated in Figma.

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool – the first of its kind. It’s used by designers at top companies worldwide, including Google, Facebook, Netflix, and more. And it’s free to use.

So, can you import a website into Figma? The answer is yes – with a few caveats.

First, Figma only supports importing from .png, .jpg, and .svg files. So if your website is built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, you’ll need to export it as an image first.

Second, Figma doesn’t allow you to edit the HTML code of an imported website. So if you want to make changes to your website’s design, you’ll need to do so in your code editor (like Sublime Text or Atom) and then re-export the image.

Finally, Figma doesn’t support responsive design. So if your website is built with responsive design in mind (which most are nowadays), you’ll need to export it as multiple images – one for each screen size you want to support.

In short, yes – you can import a website into Figma. But there are some limitations to consider before doing so.
