Can You Animate in Photoshop CC?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 12:54 am

In Photoshop CC, you can animate your images to create GIFs, videos, and more. You can use the Timeline panel to control your animation, and the Animation pane to preview your animation. You can also add text to your animation using the Type tool.

To animate in Photoshop CC, you need to first create a frame animation. To do this, go to File > New > Frame Animation.

A new window will pop up asking you how many frames you want in your animation. Choose the number of frames you want, and click OK.

PRO TIP: While it is possible to animate in Photoshop CC, there are some key things to keep in mind. First and foremost, animations created in Photoshop CC will not be as smooth or realistic as those created in a dedicated animation program like Adobe After Effects. Secondly, the file size of your animation will be much larger than if you had created it in a dedicated program – meaning it will take longer to load and may impact your computer’s performance. Finally, you will need a strong understanding of both Photoshop and animation principles in order to create a successful animation.

Once you have your frame animation, you can add images to each frame. To do this, click on the frame you want to add an image to, and then click on the layer you want to add. The image will appear in the frame.

You can also add text to your animation. To do this, click on the Type tool, and then click on the frame you want to add text to. Type your text into the box that appears, and then click OK.

Once you have added all of your images and text, you can preview your animation by clicking on the Play button in the Timeline panel. If you are happy with your animation, you can export it as a GIF, video, or other file type by going to File > Export > Export As.
