Can You Embed Code in Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:43 am

Squarespace is a popular website builder that allows users to create beautiful websites without having to write code. But what if you want to add your own custom code to your Squarespace website? Can you embed code in Squarespace?

The answer is yes, you can embed code in Squarespace. There are a few different ways to do this, depending on what type of code you want to embed and where you want it to appear on your website. One way to embed code is to use the Code Block element.

This element can be found in the Elements panel (click the + button to add a new element) and allows you to enter HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or any other type of code directly into your Squarespace website. You can also use the Code Injection feature to add code snippets to specific areas of your website, such as the header or footer. To do this, go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection and enter your code in the appropriate box.

PRO TIP: We would not recommend embedding code in Squarespace as it is not an intended use case for the platform. While you may be able to get code to work initially, it is likely that future updates to Squarespace will break your embedded code and cause unexpected issues on your site. If you need to use embedded code, we would recommend using a dedicated web development platform instead.

So, if you want to add custom code to your Squarespace website, you can definitely do so using one of the methods described above. Just be sure to test your code before publishing it live on your site, as there’s always a chance that it could break something if it’s not written correctly.

Can You Embed Code in Squarespace?

Yes, you can embed code in Squarespace using either the Code Block element or Code Injection feature.
