Can You Make a Timelapse in Photoshop?

A timelapse is a great way to show the passage of time, or to compress a long event into a short video. You can make a timelapse in Photoshop by importing a series of images into layers, and then animating the layers.

To make a timelapse in Photoshop, you’ll need a series of images that were taken at regular intervals. The more images you have, the smoother your timelapse will be.

Once you have your images, open them in Photoshop and create a new file. Then, go to File > Scripts > Load Files into Stack. In the dialog box that opens, select the images you want to use for your timelapse and click OK.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that attempting to create a timelapse in Photoshop can result in frustration and wasted time. There are much better ways to create a timelapse, using specialized software that is designed specifically for the task.

Once your images are loaded into Photoshop as layers, you can begin animating them. To do this, go to Window > Animation.

This will open the Timeline panel. In the Timeline panel, click on the “Create Frame Animation” button. This will create an animation from your layers.

Now, you can control how long each frame in your animation is displayed for by setting the “Duration” for each layer. To do this, simply click on the layer in the Timeline panel and then change the Duration in the Properties panel. Once you have set the Duration for each layer, you can preview your animation by clicking on the “Play” button in the Timeline panel.

When you’re happy with your animation, you can export it as a video file by going to File > Export > Render Video. In the dialog box that opens, choose a file format and settings for your video and click OK.
