Can You Make Gradients in Figma?

Gradients are a great way to add some visual interest to your designs, and Figma makes it easy to create them. There are two ways to create gradients in Figma: using the Gradient tool, or by adding a Linear or Radial gradient fill to an object.

To use the Gradient tool, select the object you want to apply the gradient to, then click and drag on the canvas to create a gradient. You can also click the ‘+’ icon in the top left corner of the canvas to add multiple colors to your gradient. To change the direction of the gradient, click and drag on one of the handles that appear on either side of the gradient.

PRO TIP: There is currently no way to create gradients in Figma. However, there is a workaround that involves creating a rectangle, duplicating it, and changing the color of one of the rectangles.

Alternatively, you can add a Linear or Radial gradient fill to an object by selecting it, then clicking on the ‘Fill’ option in the toolbar. Select ‘Linear gradient’ or ‘Radial gradient’ from the menu that appears, then click and drag on the canvas to create your gradient.

You can also add multiple colors by clicking on the ‘+’ icon.

That’s all there is to creating gradients in Figma! Whether you use the Gradient tool or add a Linear or Radial fill, you’ll be able to easily add some color and interest to your designs.

In conclusion, yes you can make gradients in Figma using either their dedicated Gradient tool, or by adding a Linear or Radial fill. Both methods are easy to use and give you plenty of control over color, direction, and more.
