Can You Password Protect Squarespace Site?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:50 am

There are a number of reasons why you might want to password protect your Squarespace site. Maybe you’re working on a project that’s not quite ready for public consumption, or perhaps you want to create a private area for members of your team. Whatever the reason, Squarespace makes it easy to add password protection to any page or collection on your site.

To password protect a page or collection, simply go to the settings for that page or collection and check the “Password protect” box. You’ll then be prompted to enter a password. Once you’ve done that, anyone who tries to access that page or collection will be prompted to enter the password.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that there is no guarantee that your Squarespace site will be password protected. While you may be able to set a password for your site, there is no way to guarantee that this will keep your site secure. Additionally, if you forget your password, there is no way to recover it.

One thing to keep in mind is that password protection is not foolproof. If someone really wants to access the content on your site, they may be able to figure out the password.

So if you’re looking for absolute security, you may want to consider other options. But if you’re just looking to deter casual visitors, password protection is a perfectly effective solution.

So there you have it! Password protection is a quick and easy way to add an extra layer of security to your Squarespace site.
