How Do I Add a Password to My Squarespace Site?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:29 am

There are two ways to add a password to your Squarespace site. The first way is to use the “Password” field in the “Settings” tab of your site editor. The second way is to use the “Lock Page” feature in the “Page Settings” tab of your site editor.

The “Password” field in the “Settings” tab of your site editor is the most straightforward way to add a password to your site. Simply enter a password in the field and click “Save.” Your site will now be password-protected.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to add a password to your Squarespace site, be aware that there are some potential risks. First, if you forget your password, there is no way to recover it. Second, if someone else guesses or discovers your password, they will have full access to your site. Finally, if you use a weak or easily guessed password, your site may be vulnerable to attack. For these reasons, it is important to choose a strong password that you will remember, and to keep it confidential.

The “Lock Page” feature in the “Page Settings” tab of your site editor is a more versatile way to password-protect your site. With this feature, you can password-protect individual pages on your site.

To lock a page, simply select the “Lock Page” checkbox in the “Page Settings” tab and enter a password. Your page will now be locked and only accessible with the password you’ve chosen.
