Whether you’re trying to make an image fit within the dimensions of a specific template, or you’re just trying to reduce the file size so it’s more manageable, knowing how to resize an image in Canva is an essential skill.

Luckily, it’s a pretty simple process. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps of how to resize an image in Canva, both on the desktop app and on the mobile app.

How to Resize an Image in Canva (Desktop):

How to Resize an Image in Canva (Mobile):

1. Tap on the “+” icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Find the image you want to resize in the editor and tap on it to select it. In the top toolbar, tap on the “i” icon (this stands for “information”). Select the option that best fits your needs and tap “Apply.

Whether you’re trying to make an image fit within the dimensions of a specific template, or you’re just trying to reduce the file size so it’s more manageable, knowing how to resize an image in Canva is an essential skill.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to resize an image in Canva, be aware that there is a potential for loss of quality. This is due to the fact that Canva automatically compresses images when they are uploaded, and this compression can cause some degradation in image quality. So, if you are concerned about maintaining the highest possible quality for your image, you may want to consider using another tool for resizing purposes.
