Can You Resize Frame in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 9:27 am

Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, developed by Figma, Inc. It is available online and for macOS, Windows, and Linux. As of February 2019, Figma had one million active users.

Figma has been described as “the Google Docs of design”, due to its focus on collaboration between designers. Figma’s vector editing tools allow users to draw shapes, create prototypes, and design user interfaces. Figma’s online interface makes it easy to share designs and collaborate with others in real-time.

Figma is a great tool for designing user interfaces, as it offers a wide range of features and an intuitive interface. However, one downside of Figma is that it does not offer an easy way to resize frame sizes. This can be a problem when trying to create responsive designs, as you need to manually resize each frame individually.

PRO TIP: If you attempt to resize a frame in Figma, you may encounter unexpected behavior and your design may become distorted. We recommend that you only resize frames using the dedicated width and height fields in the Inspector panel.

Fortunately, there is a workaround that allows you to resize frames in Figma. By using the “Align” feature, you can easily resize multiple frames at once.

Simply select the frames you want to resize, click the “Align” button, and then select the desired width or height. This will resize all of the selected frames to match the width or height of the first frame selected.

While this workaround is not ideal, it does allow you to quickly resize multiple frames in Figma. Hopefully in the future Figma will add an easy way to resize frames, making responsive design quicker and easier.
