Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 9:39 pm

Uploading files on Wix is a simple process that can be completed in just a few steps. First, you will need to create a new page or post on your site. Once you have done this, click on the “Add Media” button located in the upper right corner of the editor.

Next, you will see the “Upload Files” tab. Here you can either drag and drop your files into the designated area, or click the “Select Files” button to browse for them on your computer. Once you have found the files you wish to upload, simply click on them to select them.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

After your files have been selected, you will see some options appear below them. These options include “Title,” “Caption,” and “Alt Text.”

The title and caption are optional, but the alt text is required. The alt text is used to describe your image for those who are unable to see it. For example, if you are uploading a picture of a cat, your alt text might be “A black and white cat.”

Once you have entered all the necessary information, click on the “Insert into post” button. Your file will now be uploaded to your site and will appear in the post or page you were editing.

PRO TIP: While Wix does offer the ability to upload files, it is important to note that there are certain restrictions in place. For example, files must be under 100MB in size, and only certain file types are allowed (e.g. PDFs, images, etc.). Additionally, it is worth noting that Wix’s free plan does not include storage for uploaded files, so if you plan on using this feature you will need to upgrade to a paid plan.
