Does a VPS have its own IP?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 3:34 pm

A VPS, or Virtual Private Server, is a computer system that runs on a virtual machine. Virtual machines are isolated environments that run on your own hardware and can be configured to look and feel like any other computer on the network.

This means that you can run any software on a VPS, including applications that require a high-performance or secure environment.

PRO TIP: A VPS does not have its own IP address. It shares an IP address with other VPSs on the same server.

A VPS does have its own IP address, but this address is not publicly accessible like your home IP address. This address is available only to the VPS and is not shared with any other device on the network.

This allows you to securely connect to your VPS from any device on the network.
